That Council:
- Endorse the proposed portion Ravendale Sporting Precinct as the preferred location for the installation of a 700kW Community Battery under the State Government’s emPowering SA program;
- In accordance with sections 202 and 203 of the Local Government Act 1999, endorse the commencement of a public consultation process in relation to the proposed lease of a portion of the land situated at 40 Stamford Terrace, Port Lincoln, being comprised in Certificate of Title CT 5776/412, Plan D18389 A100, for the purpose of installing and operating a Community Battery by the Minister for Energy and Mining;
- Authorise the Chief Executive Officer to execute the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the City of Port Lincoln and the Department for Energy and Mining to enable the progression of detailed engineering design and site investigations, subject to any immaterial amendments required by legal review;
- Subject to the completion of public consultation to the satisfaction of the Chief Executive Officer and in the absence of substantive opposition, delegate authority to the Chief Executive Officer to:
- Finalise negotiations of the lease over the above‑described portion of the land; and
- Execute all documentation necessary to give effect to the lease; and
- Note that a further report to Council will only be prepared if public consultation identifies objections, opposition or matters of risk that, in the opinion of the Chief Executive Officer, warrant further consideration by Council.
