The City of Port Lincoln is preparing a comprehensive Master Plan to guide the long-term growth and development of Port Lincoln over the next 30 years. This important Master Plan will be a critical tool in shaping the city's future and has been designed to help influence the draft Eyre and Western Regional Plan being prepared by the State Government.
Earlier this year, Council invited early input from the community and stakeholders to help guide the planning process and ensure the Port Lincoln Master Plan reflects local needs and priorities. Feedback received from this first stage has helped shape the Draft Port Lincoln Master Plan, which is now open for final community consultation.
The Draft Master Plan identifies proposed growth areas and outlines actions to ensure development in Port Lincoln remains viable, sustainable, and beneficial for decades to come. It also includes three Priority Areas for future rezoning to support residential, employment, and commercial growth.
Once completed, the Port Lincoln Master Plan will:
- Inform Council decision-making and infrastructure investment
- Influence the draft Eyre and Western Regional Plan
- Identify future growth areas for residential, employment, and commercial use
- Guide the release of land in Port Lincoln
- Ensure adequate land supply to support current and future population and economic growth
- Assist in securing future State and Federal grant funding
Community 'Drop-in' sessions will be held at the Port Lincoln Library, providing an opportunity for community members to chat with Council staff and planning consultants from Future Urban, view maps, and learn more about the proposed growth areas:
- Monday, 10 November 2025: 4.30pm to 6.30pm
- Tuesday, 11 November 2025: 10.00am to 2.00pm
The Draft 2025 Port Lincoln Master Plan and associated documents (infrastructure and traffic investigation reports and Priority Area Factsheets) are available to view in the Key Documents section on the right. Hardcopies are also available at the Council Office and Port Lincoln Library during the consultation period.
Community feedback from this final stage will inform the final version of the Port Lincoln Master Plan, which will be presented to Council for adoption later this year.
