The City of Port Lincoln is preparing a comprehensive Master Plan to guide the long-term growth and development of Port Lincoln over the next 30 years. This important Master Plan will be a critical tool in shaping the city's future and has been designed to help influence the draft Eyre and Western Regional Plan being prepared by the State Government.
Councilinvitedearly input from the community and stakeholders to help guide the planning process and ensure the Port Lincoln Master Plan reflects local needs and priorities. Community feedback will play a vital role in creating a shared blueprint for Port Lincoln's future.
The Master Plan is an initiative of the City's Strategic Directions Plan 2025-2034, building on the foundations laid by the Port Lincoln Housing Strategy.
A key focus of the Master Plan is to identify and justify the appropriate areas for future residential and economic growth, ensuring development remains viable, sustainable, and beneficial for the Port Lincoln community for decades to come.
Once completed, the Port Lincoln Master Plan will:
- Inform Council decision-making and infrastructure investment
- Influence the draft Eyre and Western Regional Plan
- Identify future growth areas for residential, employment, and commercial use
- Guide the release of land in Port Lincoln
- Ensure adequate land supply to support current and future population and economic growth
- Assist in securing future State and Federal grant funding

Community 'Drop-in' sessions were also held, providing an opportunity to speak directly with Council staff and consultant planners.
The 2025 Port Lincoln Master Plan Preliminary Engagement document is available to view in the Key Documents section on the right. Hardcopies were also available at the Council Office and Port Lincoln Library during the consultation period.
Following consideration of the community feedback received, the Draft 2025 Port Lincoln Master Plan will be prepared and made available for further public comment before being presented to Council for adoption, planned for August 2025.
