Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030

The City of Port Lincoln invited community feedback on its Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 from Thursday, 24 July to 12pm on Friday, 15 August 2025.

Volunteers are vital to our community and play an important role in supporting Council services, programs and community life. This Plan aims to guide the future direction and sustainability of volunteering in Port Lincoln by:

  • Strengthening Council's volunteer programs
  • Identifying priority areas for action
  • Responding to challenges and opportunities in the broader volunteer landscape within Council resorcing capacity

The draft Volunteer Management Plan has been informed by data, community input, and best practice strategies at state and national levels. Your feedback will help ensure it reflects local needs and aspirations.

We want to hear from volunteers, community volunteer organisations, stakeholders and residents.

The Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 is available to review in the Key Documents section on the right. Hardcopies were also available at the Council Office and Port Lincoln Library.

  • Council Resolution CO 25/166 - Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 for Community Consultation

    That Council:

    1. Receive and note the Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 as presented in Attachment Doc 83236
    2. Endorse the Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 as presented in Attachment Doc 83236 for the purposes of public consultation; and
    3. Authorise the consultation period to commence on Thursday 24 July 2025 for the receipt of submissions until the close of the consultation period at 12pm, Friday 15 August 2025.

Members of the community were invited to have their say on the Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 during the public consultation period which ran from Thursday, 24 July to 12pm on Friday, 15 August 2025.

Council decision

At the Council Meeting held on Monday, 15 September 2025:

Council:

  1. Received and noted the submissions received during the consultation process for the Draft Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 as presented in Attachment Doc 88707;
  2. Having regard to the process undertaken, is satisfied that community consultation has met the requirements of the Council's Public Consultation Policy; and
  3. Adopted the Volunteer Management Plan 2025-2030 as presented in Attachment Doc 83236 (with minor amendments if applicable) - Refer Agenda - 15 September 2025 in key documents section.
