A survey has been developed to help shape the city's first-ever Youth Action Plan
We're inviting young people, families, carers and the wider community to have their say!
The City of Port Lincoln invitedthe community to provide feedback on its first-ever Draft Youth Action Plan 2026–2031,for final comment.
This Draft Plan outlines Council’s commitment to supporting and empowering young people across our community. It focuses primarily on young people aged 5–18, while also recognising the needs of early years (0–5) and young adults (19–24) through advocacy and broader community-level support.
This Youth Action Plan is all about making our city more youth-friendly — creating welcoming and inclusive spaces to chill, play and connect, supporting the things that matter most to young people, and ensuring young voices are heard loud and clear in local decision-making.
This is the final consultation for the community to review the Draft Youth Action Plan and help ensure it reflects the priorities, aspirations and needs of Port Lincoln’s young people.
How the Draft Plan Was Developed
The Draft Youth Action Plan has been shaped by extensive community engagement.
The Youth Survey was open from Friday, 17 October to 10am Thursday, 6 November 2025. During this time, Council also consulted with schools, youth organisations and key stakeholders across Port Lincoln.
Young people shared what is working well in our community, what could be improved, and what matters most to them — including feedback on Council spaces and facilities, programs and services, community connections, and emerging challenges facing young people.
This feedback has directly informed the focus areas and priorities outlined in the Draft Plan.
We invited the community to review the Draft Youth Action Plan 2026-2031 and provide feedback before it is finalised and presented to Council for adoption, between Thursday,19 February to 10am on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The Draft Youth Action Plan 2026-2031 and the supporting Youth Action Plan Background Report can be viewed in the Key Documents section on the right.
Printed copies of both documents werealso available at the Council Office and Port Lincoln Library throughout the consultation period.
